Limerick, Clare, Carlow and Waterford picked up opening day wins, following four keenly-contested encounters in National Football League Division 4.
Visitors Limerick had no trouble in overcoming the challenge presented by London in Ruislip, taking a 0-17 to 1-4 win.
Carlow were 1-10 to 0-10 winners over Longford after the sides were deadlocked at 0-4 each at the interval. John Murphy's 50th-minute goal was the decisive score in the second half.
Clare stole a 1-09 to 0-11 win over Wicklow after a superb second half comeback. Wicklow led by 0-7 to 0-2 at half-time, but Clare rallied on the restart.
The Banner kicked six unanswered points between the 39th and 53rd minutes, to cut the deficit to a point on a 0-9 to 0-8 scoreline.
Clare continued to build momentum with a 60th minute goal from Gearoid Lynch. But David Tubridy was Clare's match winner as he split the posts in the 68th minute to dash Wicklow's hopes.
Elsewhere, John Owens' reign as Waterford boss got off to a bright start with a 0-13 to 0-10 win over Leitrim.
The visitors had led by 0-6 to 0-5 at half-time, and the Deise pulled through despite Robert Aherne failing to convert a second half penalty.
