Kerryman Mick O'Dwyer will not make a decision on his future as Wicklow senior football manager for a few more weeks, he revealed today.
O'Dwyer, who guided both Kildare and Laois to Leinster titles in previous roles, this year brought Wicklow through their longest ever spell in the All-Ireland Championship.
He has been Garden County boss for the past three seasons, despite being initially appointed for just a two-year term.
"You have to reflect as you go on in life," O'Dwyer said at a Vodafone Big Match stats press conference.
"I'm still doing a bit of reflecting and doing a bit of fishing and taking it easy at the moment.
"I will be going back for a chat and will see how things (are). It's going to be just a few more weeks now and I will make a decision then."
Although Wicklow have shown a dramatic improvement under their current manager, O'Dwyer insists that his adopted county can make further strides.
"We need about four or five more players down there to make a real top class team. One thing about Wicklow at the moment is that they are able to compete at the top level and that is the most important thing.
"It's not about the present Wicklow team. I went there for two years and I did a third and then I mean it is up to Wicklow.
"The underage structure is the most important thing. If they can put that in place, then there is where they will come from.
"Seemingly 2,800 children turned up at the Wicklow GAA Cul Camps this year, so that is a massive thing for them.
"If they can keep those youngsters playing then in about ten years time we'll see the benefits in Wicklow, but it's going to take time."
